Biography

JOHN AZLEN

John Azlen is a community leader and para-sports advocate based in Windsor, Ontario, serving the Windsor-Essex County region. He is the co-founder and President of the Rose City Riot Para-Sports Club, a grassroots organization dedicated to promoting inclusive sport opportunities — particularly wheelchair basketball — for athletes of all abilities. Under his leadership, Rose City Riot has grown into a vibrant club offering weekly practices, tournament play, and outreach programming to increase awareness and participation in adaptive sports.

John’s passion for accessibility in sport stems from his belief in the power of athletic participation to build confidence, community, and resilience. As a coach and organizer, he has been featured by local and provincial sport organizations for his efforts to grow adaptive athletics and create welcoming environments for players of all experience levels.

Through charity events, demonstrations, and collaborative partnerships across Essex County, John continues to expand opportunities for para-athletes, strengthening Windsor’s reputation as a leader in inclusive sporting experiences.
